In progress on behalf of prime consultant and Government of Nunavut
Concentric Geoscience was retained to design a RAP and provide associated advisory services in support of a capital redevelopment project at a contaminated site in Cape Dorset, NU. The Concentric Geoscience team collaborated with its risk assessment partner to further evaluate the potential exposure risks and develop a RAP that included a detailed schedule and costing for the completion of the remediation and a comparative feasibility/cost analysis for two remediation/risk management options. The remediation/risk management options and a summary of the supporting site work and data used for its development were presented in person to the Government of Nunavut Departments of Environment and Community and Government Services in order to reach a consensus for the remedial approach. The Concentric Geoscience team developed the relevant specifications for the preferred remediation option in coordination with the firm overseeing the site redevelopment and adjusted the RAP where required based on the redevelopment plan. Remediation of the site in accordance with the RAP began in June 2019. Concentric Geoscience is currently providing onsite oversight and direction for the remedial activities.
