Completed for Kudlik Construction Ltd.
Concentric’s geoscience group was called upon to provide ESA services on a rush basis for a multi-million dollar construction project to replace a fire damaged school in the remote Nunavut community of Kugaaruk. Geoscience field personnel mobilized to the site within two days of authorization and expedited the site assessment work by maximizing daylight hours and extending work days. Project efficiency was achieved by combining the Phase I and II ESA site visits. The assessment team implemented a high resolution sampling plan that involved over 60 soil and water samples, with the ultimate intent of minimizing/negating the need for additional field mobilizations. The Phase I and II ESAs were combined into one report and remedial action recommendations were provided within an appropriate regulatory framework that also considered project, client and Hamlet constraints. The overall project was completed within three weeks of authorization.
