Completed on behalf of national insurer of a fuel service station in Yellowknife, NT
Concentric’s geoscience specialists were retained to address hydrocarbon impacts discovered in a surface water drainage network adjacent to a fuel service station that had resulted in a GNWT Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) order. Concentric’s geoscience field personnel expedited utility locates and began a drilling program within five days of authorization. The field program involved monitoring well installation, groundwater flow interpretation and monitoring, surface water sampling and a ground penetrating radar scan to identify/map underground infrastructure potentially influencing contaminant migration. All work was undertaken in sub-zero temperatures and frozen soil conditions and was completed within two weeks of authorization. The Concentric geoscience team maintained regular contact with the GNWT ENR officer and all other stakeholders to provide updates and assessment results.
