Completed for the Government of Nunavut
The Government of Nunavut retained Concentric’s geoscience group to undertake a Phase I and II ESA of 13 lots varying in size from 0.8 to 14 hectares, located in southwest Iqaluit. The ESAs were commissioned for due diligence purposes as part of a proposed land transfer to the City of Iqaluit. The Phase I ESA identified several areas of potential environmental concern that were addressed in a Phase II ESA which involved the collection and analysis of 11 water samples and over 50 soil samples collected through a combination of testpitting and hand augering. Results of the Phase II ESA were used to identify area-specific environmental risks and requirements for additional delineation.
