Concentric’s geoscience group was retained by a prominent Ontario-based construction company to complete a Phase I and II ESA at their headquarters in an Ottawa industrial park. The ESA services had to be completed under an accelerated timeline and with discretion in support of a pending corporate transaction. The site was located in an area with a long history of various industrial activities, including a former waste disposal area that had documented chlorinated solvent contamination issues. On-site were areas of potential concern associated with current and past activities. The Phase I and II ESA were expedited and undertaken with the intent of identifying the presence or absence of adverse impacts at a level of detail that would characterize potential environmental liability for the pending transaction.
